Creative Writing MFA Student Spotlight: Adrienne Capone

Creative Writing MFA Student Spotlight: Adrienne Capone

August 13, 2024
A blue background with yellow headers around the text. The Drexel University logo is at the bottom. A header is at the top with small text above it. The small text reads, “Creative Writing MFA Program Spotlight” in all caps. The header reads, “Adrienne Capone.” The headings are in yellow and the regular text is in white. On the left is a photo of Adrienne, smiling in front of the ocean, with her arms stretched out. She has short, curly, light brown hair. She is wearing a white t-shirt, black sunglasses, and a black purse. The text reads, “Why are you pursuing an MFA?
‘I have tried single classes and workshops, but I needed more guidance. I was attracted to the Drexel MFA because of the focus on craft and the work needed to publish.’
What are you currently working on?
‘My work-in-progress is a family saga that begins in the 1960s.’
‘I think all writing, including fiction, is about creating understanding.’”
The same background and style as the first. The Drexel University logo is at the bottom. On the top right is a photo of Adrienne and her partner in the car. She is wearing a white shirt and black sunglasses, and has her cat on her lap. In the bottom left is a shot of Adrienne standing on a balcony that overlooks many tall city buildings. She is wearing red nail polish, a silver necklace, a polka dot shirt under a black cardigan, blue jeans, and tall black boots. The text reads, “How do you build your stories?
‘The story comes from my imagination, then I start writing, then outline. Drafting then outlining is a pattern I have used in all types of writing. I search for the destination and then draw the map.’
